Daniel J. "DJ" Johnson, 75, Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Joseph and Gertrude (VanAllman) Johnson. On June 24, 1967, he married Margaret Conrad.
Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years; a daughter, Brenda; three grandchildren: Kelsey LeAnne, Marlee Nicole and Brianna Louise Johnson; two sisters: Nancy Creighton and Diana (Patrick) Peters; several nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law Michael Conrad and wife, Karyn; and his cat, Wink.
He was preceded in death by brother-in-law Frank Creighton.
Dan was a 1962 Altoona High School graduate and worked for Butterick Co. Inc. as a binder. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Dan enjoyed model gliders, building model cars, collecting Diecast cars and spending time with his granddaughters.
Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at the Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, 1520 Fourth St., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 200 Third Ave., Altoona. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park.
