Alan "Big Al" Brennan Obituary

Alan Charles Brennan (Big Al), 60, Lake Stevens, WA, formerly of Altoona, passed away on April 10, 2017, while vacationing in Maine. Al is survived by his children, Dale R. Brennan of Bothell, WA, and Sean M. Alan was born on January 3, 1957, in Altoona to Robert and Bernadette (Lyons-Siegrist). He graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle High School in 1974. He received a BS in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) from Weber State University, Ogden, Utah, in June, 1987. Al started his career in the US Air Force as an F-4 Electronics Technician (1976-1980). He continued as an Electronics Technician in the Civil Service until receiving his EET degree, at which point, he became a software engineer for the Civil Service. He worked on robotic warehouses and F-16 radar testing equipment. Later in his career, he became an Electrical Engineer for Bonneville Power Administration until his retirement in 2012. Al was an amazingly talented person, working in community theaters as an actor and musician in both Ogden and Snohomish, WA. Al loved the outdoors, camping, hiking, and stargazing. He loved to travel, especially enjoying Europe, and with his travel to Maine, marked a visit to all 50 states. He was an avid chess player who was rated with the World Chess Federation, and he had written articles for Chess Magazine. Al was deeply loved by family and friends, and he made a big impression on everyone he met.
