Angeline “Angie” Smith, 87, passed away Friday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Philip and Jane Papas.

Surviving are a sister, Evelyn Knott; two nephews: David and Timothy Knott; five nieces: Angela, Connie, Sharon, Karen and Brenda; nine great-nephews; and three great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Smith; a brother, George Papas; three sisters: Lulu Thompson, Helen McIntire and Sophia Graziosi; and a niece, Sandy (Thompson) Colyer.

Angie had previously been employed at Altoona Shoe Factory.

She was a generous giver and enjoyed collecting things. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, 1520 Fourth St., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at

11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Garvey Manor Chapel, Pastor Evelyn Madison officiating. Internment will be held Rosehill Cemetery.
