Cindy L. Gates, 62, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Joan (Matthews) Thompson and the late George Thompson. She married Robert E. Gates and he preceded her death on Feb. 8, 2019.
She is survived by her two loving daughters: Heather (Laramy) Cramer, of Coalport and Jessica Gates, of Altoona; a granddaugher, Anna Cramer; a sister, Andrea (Joe) Reffner; two brothers: Bob (Dona) Thompson and Darin Thompson; her mother; three nieces: Stephanie, Nicole, and Jennifer; a nephew, Michael; two great-nephews, Tanner and Ethan; and her dog, Bella.
Cindy received a Nursing degree from the Altoona Vo Tech and worked as an LPN at the Altoona Hospital. She enjoyed reading, making paper dolls, and spending time with her granddaugther.
Cindy was a member of Wehnwood United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received from 10am until the 11am memorial service, Monday, Nov. 18, 2019 at Wehnwood United Methodist Church, 2511 Juniata Gap Road, Altoona, Pastor Evelyn Madison officiating. Interment will be at Canoe Creek Cemetery.
