Edna B. (Reese) McConnell

Edna B. (Reese) McConnell, 95, of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 12, 2021 at Maybrook Hills. She was born on March 20, 1926 in Altoona, to the late Thomas and Margaret (Miller) Reese.

She is survived by her children: Paul McConnell, Terry (Leslie) McConnell, Thomas (Eileen) McConnell, Kathleen (Chip) Schilling, and Lisa (Kevin) Dellape; a brother, Thomas B. Reese; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and many nephews and nieces that she loved very much.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. McConnell; her parents; a sister, Dolores Jean Fochler; grandsons: Brian and Michael McConnell; and a great-granddaughter, Maura McConnell.

She worked for many years at Mason’s Department Store. She was also a daycare provider for Daycare Services of Blair County. She loved her family and was a devoted Christian who cared for people in need. She opened her home on the holidays for those without families.

Family will be received from 10am until the 12pm funeral service Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at the Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534-4th St. Altoona. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
