Frances C. Friedenberger, 82, of Lancaster, formerly of Altoona, passed away Wednesday at Lancaster General Hospital. She was born in Barnesboro, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kasianowitz. She married Aloise B. Friedenberger and he died Nov. 17, 1993.
Surviving are five children: Diana Lee Burket, Theresa Ann Friedenberger, Barbara Sue Miller, Alan K. Friedenberger and Richard W. Friedenberger; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barb Rainey; and many nieces and nephews.
Frances was a former member of Fourth Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked at Sheetz and the Altoona Shoe Factory
She was a professional skater and, earlier in life, had pursued a path to become a nun.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 25, 2019, in the Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, at the Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 - 4th Street, Altoona with Dr. Barry Folmer officiating.
Internment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
