Joan D. Thompson, 91, Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday at Garvey Manor. She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late Millard and Violet (Fern) Matthew. She later married George R. Thompson and he preceded her in death in 2014.
She is survived by a daughter, Andrea (Joe) Reffner; two sons: Robert (Dona) Thompson and Darin Thompson; 6 grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Reffner, Jennifer (Bill) Reffner, Stephanie Thompson, Nicole Thompson, Heather (Larry) Cramer, and Jessica Gates; 3 great-grandchildren: Tanner Reffner, Ethan Reffner, and Anna Cramer; a sister, Della (Al) Rydell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Gates and her husband Bob.
Joan was a Bellwood High School graduate and worked as a homemaker to her family.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church, current member of Wehnwood United Methodist Church, as well as a member of Eastern Star and the Jobel Court #LOSNA Past High Priestess.
Friends will be received from 11am until the 12 noon funeral service on Thursday Sept. 7, 2023 at the Axe and Santella Family Chapel. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
