Judith L. Baird

Judith L. Baird, 77, Altoona, a 20 month pancreatic cancer survivor, passed away Friday at her home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late William and Edna (Farabaugh) Craig. She later married Theodore Baird on Oct. 15, 1960.

Surviving is her loving husband of 59 years; a daughter, Sherry (Roger) Barnard; two sons: Theodore (Cathy) Baird Jr. and Joseph Baird; 4 grandchildren: Roger and Jennifer Barnard and Taylor and Delayni Baird; one great-granddaughter, Bailey Barnard; three sisters: Ann Rhodes, Janet Gensamer, and Joan Wills; and 3 brothers: Richard, Donald, and Vince Craig.

She was preceded in death by 4 brothers: William, Robert, Charles, and Jack Craig.

Judith was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked at Black’s and Kopp Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Tech until retirement.

She enjoyed volunteering at the Altoona Food Bank and attending baseball games with her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends, family, and especially, her grandchildren.

Judith was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lakemont.

Friends will be received from 4-7pm, Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 at the Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, 1520-4th St. Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am, Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 344 Baynton Ave, Altoona, PA 16602. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
