Myrven H. “Murphy” Neaffer V, 43, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at his home. He was born in Altoona, son of Myrven H. Neaffer IV and Marilyn (Sheridan) Workinger.
Murphy’s love were his two daughters: Marlo A. and Scarlet R. Neaffer, who put a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye at the mere thought of them. He also leaves behind a daughter: Frankie K. Benden; his loving parents, Marilyn and William Workinger and Myrven IV and Lei Lona Neaffer; a sister: Mindy (Juan) Robles; a brother, Mitchell (Aarika) Neaffer; a stepsister: Heather (Alfred) Midgley; nieces: Chloe Neaffer and Anne Marie Midgley; nephews: Trenton, Tegan and Terence (Hailey) Robles, Hiram Neaffer and Will Midgley; a great-nephew, Atlas Robles; his best friend, Tommy Forlina; his faithful companion, Athena; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elizabeth and M.H. Neaffer III and his maternal grandparents, William and Arlene Sheridan.
Murphy was a graduate of Altoona Area High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1994-97 where he served in the Tanker Division at Fort Hood, Texas.
He was a partner with his sister, Mindy, in operating Joe and Mary’s Cafe, where he enjoyed cooking.
Murphy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He lived his life truly by his favorite quote: “I’m not on this earth for a long time but to have a good time!”
