Ronald E. Shoenfelt, 82, Altoona, passed away Saturday at Maybrook Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles R. and Marie (Campbell) Shoenfelt.
He later married Sharon A. McManamy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; daughter, Lori (David) Cavallaro; son, Ronald “Rusty” (Stephanie) Shoenfelt; three grandchildren: Kaleb Andrews, Kirstyn Andrews and Nicholas Shoenfelt; brother, Dennis Shoenfelt; and his cat, Haley.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Hunter Andrews.
Ron was a graduate of Altoona High School and served in the United States Army. He later retired from SKF as a machine operator after 31 years of service.
Ron volunteered as a poll worker with the Board of Voters. He was an avid PSU fan, loved fishing, hunting, NASCAR and the Steelers. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, at Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, 1520 Fourth St., Altoona.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, at the Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
