Ruth A. Patterson

March 14, 1926 – June 29, 2023

Ruth A. Patterson, 97, Altoona, peacefully passed away Thursday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born in Johnstown, daughter of the late Joseph and Della (Miller) Shoenfelt. She later married Robert Patterson and he preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1994.

She is survived by two daughters: Sandra Patterson and Marsha (Neil) Glass; and two granddaughters: Bobbie (William) Weyandt and Lisa Ann (Brian) Burkholder.

Ruth was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters: Anson, George K., Russell, Harry, and William Shoenfelt, June Priddy and Mary Katherine “Tinky” Litzinger.

Ruth worked as a homemaker to her family.

She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, cooking and baking.

Friends will be received from 4pm until the 6 pm funeral service Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Leslie E. Axe Funeral Home, 1520-4th St. Altoona PA 16601, with Pastor Randy Willis officiating.
