Virginia F. (Worthy) Baldassarre

Virginia F. Baldassarre, 85, Altoona, passed away Saturday at Midtown Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Russell and Alverta (Darr) Worthy. She later married Rudolph G. Baldassarre at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2013.

She is survived by 4 sons: Leonard R. Baldassare, of Birmingham and Michael J. Baldassarre, Rodney L. Baldassarre, and Alfred B. Baldassarre, all of Altoona; 4 grandchildren: Dominick, Gavien, Levi, and Bonnie; a sister, Hazel Oldam; and a brother Elwood Worthy.

She was preceded in death by 7 brothers and an infant sister.

Virginia worked for 34 years as a nurses aid at Garvey Manor and also worked at Puritan Sportswear.

She enjoyed gardening.

Friends will be received from 10am until the 11am funeral service on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023 in the Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534-4th St. Altoona PA 16601.
